Sundays Well () vs Highfield ()
Woodleigh Park, 10:30AM
Match 1 Well 8 Highfiled 5. Match 2 Well 8 Highfield 8.
The Under nines played out a good tough series of matches against Highfield this weekend. The conditions were perfect and two six a side games ensured that everyone got plenty of ball. The sides were well matched and the games were fairly tight affairs. The Well started off strongly following a good warm up with plenty of handling drills and the muscle stretching excercises. The two Aarons and Adam used their strength and aggression to soften up the opposition in the early exchanges. Mark bagged a couple of tries and gave some nice offloads to his supporting players. Fergal and Sam alternated at half back and the ploy confused the Field and allowed Mark to get some extra space. Some back chat to the Referee\Coach resulted in a penalty reverse which got the lads dander up further and produced some better tackling. Joe opened his account for the Well with a well taken try and Conor and David linked up well in the second match. Player rotation was the order of the day with Gavin doing work in the engine room and Levin taking a look at scrum half. Jamie was showing his wide game skills and Nicholas is starting to show his stuff. Passing improved during the matches and one try at the end stared off behind the Well line when the HIghfield attacker spilled the ball following a great tackle. Fergal picked up the loose ball and managed to make some ground before linking up with Aaron, Sam and all the team handle before Mark finished it off in the corner. Contender for try of the season !.
